The rugged geologist, Dr. John Thornburn Williamson, left De Beers in 1932 to prospect on his own for diamonds in what is now Tanzania.

A decade later Williamson traced a mineral often found in association with diamonds back to its source at Mwadui. There he uncovered the largest diamond mine ever found up to then. The oval-shaped volcanic pipe, filled with diamondiferous ore, covered some 361 acres just on the surface -- 4x larger than any diamond pipes in South Africa.

Production has tapered off to a mix that includes lots of industrial grade stone (unlike Oranjemund in SW Namibia where gem-grade diamonds litter the beach).

Tanzania cacáo follows a similar pattern: a few gems among the bulk.

Find out below whether this is one of them.

Dark
very brown fruit (raisins & figs) interlined with trace baobab to refresh in the direction of tamarind without quite attaining it... then dark sap (molasses + balsam) -> spice back (cloves & Spinus spatula) -> late-breaking caramel -> nut close (roasted almond skins)

Milk
dark butter toffee -> butterscotch -> just the lightest baobab trace -> black butter-sap galvanizes fresh apricot! -> an after-lingering almond brownie

Dark
Kokoa Kamili; 70% cacáo-content, Batch 427

Chocolate crafted from Kokoa Kamili-sourced cocoa as of late displays brassy fruits. This just the opposite. Whether in the harvesting or the processing (probably both) the difference accentuated by Omnom's use of raw cane sugar.

INGREDIENTS: cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter

Milk
Batch 425

Commendable. Basically the Dark (above) with a cup of milk poured in, in thus surpassing its dark-bar parent (above). Phenomenal staying power.

INGREDIENTS: cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, sunflower lecithin
