Prior to his military career, Benedict Arnold ran a New Age-style health store in New Haven, CT down the block from today’s Yale University. In it he sold all manner of sundries for one’s physical, mental & spiritual well-being. Among the items for sale: chocolate of course.

This bar also proclaims to possess healing properties, the marketing hook for “"raw chocolate” in the USA. Perhaps so but strictly in terms of flavor, however, it commits treason.

Ladies & gentlemen, the Benedict Arnold of Chocolate.
Appearance   3.8 / 5
Color: brownie brown
Surface: fudgible
Temper: flat opaque
Snap: tough stuff
Aroma   7.1 / 10
leather strap buffed in coconut oil -- the hallmarks of bulk Ecuador or West Africa
wheezes up peanut skins & dirt -> maple bark (the lucuma component)
Mouthfeel   6.4 / 15
Texture: broken
Melt: abortive & anemic
Flavor   29.2 / 50
weird blank butter blandishment edging over pitiable green cocoa -> various powders & molds fill in the gap -> bitter ending
Quality   5.8 / 20
Reconstituted... cocoa powder in cocoa butter, then covered up in mostly lucuma & vanilla. "Raw", i.e., par-cooked compound. With all the additives, this amounts to a functional food slab.

Texturally a ramshackle. Cocoa butter usually rounds up voluptuously. This just falls apart into oily strips. Then again, no misrepresentation: it's not, after all, called 'chocolate', it's Rawclates.

INGREDIENTS: cocoa powder, cocoa butter, coconut sugar, lucuma, mama, mesquite, hemp, vanilla, salt
