Operates under the M.O. motto ‘chocolate / not candy’. Quite true; unfortunately, not very good chocolate. Consequently emphasizes traceable sourcing (as in, do you know where your chocolate comes from?). In this case, Vere’s fortunes are at the whims of formerly Vintage Plantations & more recently Tulicorp - manufacturer of their base-blend(s) formulated in conjunction with it. Predictable as earthquakes, tornadoes, & cyclones.
Selections
Couverture: Tulicorp
Lemon-Poppyseed - mealy caramel w/ lemon-clean Windex™ & poppy crunch to warm the citrus against blank chocolate canvas
Cinnamon-Pecan - ham-handed & confused; dried pecan pie filling
Spicy Pumpkin Seed - chili pepper, pumpkin seed, & egg whites conspire for a maple-like caramel; well proportioned, balanced, & done
Salted w/ Nibs - too many saccharides (inulin, fructose, lactose, & seemingly glucose), too few phenols (as in chocolate)
Coconut Cluster – plain, simple & pure to the so-named Arriba
Brownie – ditto
Cacao Nib Wafers – cocoa version of low-carb pastry splotch
Pepper Corn Wafers – same as its Cacao Nib sib but w/ quicker up-front draw
75% - making hay from chocolate; straw nose, soft touch on the tongue; pinguid upper body; green coffee center (full review here
