Quinametli – in Nahua means “bones of ancient people called giants” (source: Sahagun). Blended with chocolate it served as a med for dysentery.

Coppeneur apparently encapsulates that potion in this bar.
Appearance   4.2 / 5
Color: true magenta
Surface: Coppeneur's iconic, eye-catching mold
Temper: despite all the packaging safeguards, terribly nicked
Snap: rubber band
Aroma   5.8 / 10
wood - leather - mushrooms - damp soil commingle together
banana - bug spray lift it some(!!)
cacti
cheesing lactic acid
Mouthfeel   11.5 / 15
Texture: comes apart at the seams
Melt: hydro lipids
Flavor   27.3 / 50
the smell tells
buttered wood -> mushrooms -> basically the Aromatics minus the banana (substitute coconut shell) -> mite spice (Mecaxochitl / Piper sanctum) -> bad tobacco -> mildew -> bitter bark & bitter resin of orijuela (aka ear flower)
Quality   9.1 / 20
Aspirin / dreck. Utterly unforgiving. Virtually no cocoa note at all.

A bar which never has a chance, starting with discardable cacáo from Mexico all the way up to the processing parameters.

Coppeneuer in need of new sourcing methods & greater product control on this one.

Hardly worth the effort.

INGREDIENTS: cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter
