The flying blue angels of flavor, peel off to do a few loops & barrel rolls, then swoop back on each other in tight Delta formation for the final fleur-de-lis manuever.
Appearance   3.3 / 5
Color: dark brown shot in burgundy
Surface: Barlovento
Temper: semi-gloss
Snap: firm
Aroma   8.1 / 10
starts smoking even before it jumps out of the wrapper & more smoke it delivers along w/ major reds (raspberry); secondarily a hard-firing roasted hazelnut & coffee; vanilla / clove & book-binding leather in the base notes
Mouthfeel   13 / 15
Texture: stiff & un-pliable, then morphs to near molecular groove...
Melt: ... resolves beautifully into full-flavored meltdown
Flavor   45 / 50
raw chocolate honey -> bitter pop w/ burnt coffee caramel edge -> vanilla / clove -> passing black cherry -> off plastic bubblegum blows up big juicy fruit (raspberry) -> cinnamon tangerine -> chocolate-hazelnut bender into apricot spice cake
Quality   17.8 / 20
A lot of taste, depth, & dimension using cacáo grown on the celebrated estate featured in Presilla’s New Taste of Chocolate (pg 50-51 in the 2001 Edition). Only drawback – more hermetic technical control than natural flow (the direct opposite of El Rey’s treatment on the same bean varietal). Ergo, a synthetic ride. Translated to fiction, this bar qualifies as postmod homage to Fielding´s worldly Tom Jones in the cockpit.
