Judging by appearances, formulation & reputation, this would seem to have little chance to make much of an impression other than possibly a negative one.

But as the ageless Italian poet Ovid says, "chance is always powerful".

And that's why chocolate is made.

Harmlessly suitable for puff pastries & cupcake wars & a whole lot more.
Appearance   2.1 / 5
Color: pueblo (dried earth)
Surface: frosted
Temper: exhausted
Snap: big for such a small pistole
Aroma   6.3 / 10
lumber, coconut shells, vanilla & dirt
Mouthfeel   12.6 / 15
Texture: undifferentiated
Melt: evenly paced
Flavor   43.2 / 50
dried cocoa -> fuming vanilla -> wood plank with a little bite to its bark -> anise & sassafras (very Agostoni Peruvian) -> molasses-mango surprise, the juice to quench a very dry cocoa powder finish
Quality   16.4 / 20
A bulwark... & then some.

Once more, Agostoni exceeds expectations. What has all the hallmarks for a quick 'speed-review' turns up more than bargained for: an overachiever.

Every good line has one of these. Guittard's benchmark 61%, Chocovic's 6040, or this. The stuff to pump out by the ton. Private labeled by the thousands (for supermarkets chains or even concepts such as Intentional Chocolate).

And yet it holds interest & attention with decent range of flavors (cocoa x spice + fruit).

Score one for mass production.
