One of Scandinavia's original exports -- the Vikings -- defined 'serf' as someone who owns only his belly. This makes thralls (the Viking word for ‘slave’) out of eaters.

Consumers worldwide shall feel "enthralled" therefore with this bar from Scandinavia's latest -- Malmö's Master Blend.

there they go again
another provocative piece from Malmö
this one coarsely-chopped mixed-nuts sprinkled atop a warm pretzel with rock salt -> the whole assembly sinks in a deep Earthen loam
late-breaking fruit plume heightens the anticipation... nearly snorted beforehand, okay, okay, did snort it, actually a lot of it, cuz it smells as good as it tastes...
Mouthfeel   12.7 / 15
Texture: frays some before it...
Melt: ... rounds up to some fleshy buns
Flavor   45.8 / 50
chocolate sandwich airlifted from Africa, swiped with thin fruit overlay (papaya) -> spice back (cardamom / sassafras) -> fig-licorice, grows to frangipani -> those promised nuts in the Aroma re-appear as hickory & pecans (excellent) -> checks-out chestnut cream
Quality   17.6 / 20
Modern artisan craft chocolate rages on, fueled largely by the marketing fetish of "single origins" -- some bigger than the state of Texas or the size of Australia. Which often makes it damn difficult to pinpoint just where exactly this stuff comes from. Traceability, even with RFID tags, has its limits. So much for transparency.

Malmö, founded by Emil Mazetti Nissen (whose visage presumably mugs the wrapper [click image upper right] in a pre-Alan "Patric Chocolate" McClure pose), hits the refresh button & goes against the grain & back to its roots in offering up this Master Blend, aptly named since the company lives off blends having mastered this formulation over a century ago.

New barsmiths on the chocolate block take note: wall-to-wall without any cracks or gaps in the Flavor; only those initial brief flutters in the Texture. Center-point chocolate for the most part ala Bernachon sans vanilla, big buerre, & robust roast. Just diligently constructed, then concentrated.

Like other leading Swedish exports -- Ericsson, Volvo & Battlefield video games -- Malmö's 1888 Line builds solid chocolate bars.
